  • How is ASTI different than other online CPR certification sites?

    The American Safety Training Institute has one of the largest instructor networks in the US, with over 100 years combined training experience. Our staff is comprised of experienced medical professionals, first responders, and safety training instructors. In addition, we are one of only a few nationally recognized training companies that offers online, on-site, and blended course delivery systems.

  • Is your certification accepted by my agency / employer?

    American Safety Training Institute certifications follow the most up-to-date guidelines provided by the International Consensus on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (ICCR) and the Emergency Cardiovascular Care with Treatment (ECCT) recommendations. All students are fully protected by American Safety Training Institute’s money-back guarantee.

  • How long does it take to complete an online certification course?

    Our average student can complete the courses in 1-3 hours. The CPR Certification and First Aid Training courses typically require approximately one hour each to complete. Our training courses are setup so you can proceed at a pace that is comfortable for you. If you need to take a break you may log out and return to the course at a later time.

  • Does a course have to be completed during a single login to the student portal?

    No, our training is setup so you can learn at your own pace. All participants have 30 days’ access to our training portal to review the material and complete the online exam. If you must take a break, you may log out and return to the course at a later time.

  • I have a large group to register. How do I register and pay for more than one participant at a time?

    Our group registration process is simple. Send us your list of participants and we will register each participant for you and email you back activated usernames and initial passwords. For billing purposes, we will send you one invoice for the group so all participants can have access to materials at one time. Groups of 5 or more participants qualify for a group rate discount. Contact ASTI for details.

  • How long do my certifications remain valid?

    American Safety Training Institute certifications are valid for 2 years from the date of issue.

  • What can I do if I do not pass the ASTI training exam?

    Not a problem! The cognitive exam can be taken as many times as needed to pass at NO ADDITIONAL COST. We want our students to focus on learning the material and not to worry about the exam. All test questions are multiple choice or true/false and are pulled directly from the course material. Please keep in mind that participants have access to the online training materials for a period of 30 days following registration.

  • How soon after registration can I take a course?

    You can access the online materials immediately following a successful registration and billing process. As soon as you complete registration on our sign-up page , your billing account will be charged and your login credentials immediately become active. You may begin the course!

  • I need my certification immediately, how fast will I get it?

    You will receive a digital certificate via e-mail immediately following course completion. Your wallet certification cards are mailed out to you within 24 hours following completion.

  • Do you offer courses in languages other than English?

    Yes, we offer online safety training in Spanish. You can take a Spanish-language CPR certification course at SpanishCPR.com.

  • Can international students take this training?

    Our payment system can process transactions for US and Canadian students only. We follow international safety guidelines so training can be completed from worldwide locations; however, payment must be billed to a US or Canadian-based processing system. International students may contact us for assistance with training.

  • Are there any additional costs?

    All online course prices include digital certificate, certification wallet cards mailed directly to you, and online training programs that provide adult/child/infant techniques at no additional cost. While other training sites charge fees for items or services, such as certification cards and shipping charges, we do not. Blended training assessments will require a small additional fee to cover instructor’s time. Please contact us for blended training course pricing as pricing varies by location

  • I do not have a credit card, can I register with a check or money order?

    You may register and pay with a personal check or money order made out to: American Safety Training Institute. Include your first/last name, mailing address, e-mail address, and the course(s) you have selected. We will email your login credentials as soon as we have completed processing your payment. Please allow 7-10 business days for payment processing.
