Overview

Administering emergency oxygen is a vital skill and can help in a multitude of scenarios, from allowing a victim to breathe easier to preventing brain damage. Safely managing bloodborne pathogens helps prevent the spread of life-threatening diseases like hepatitis and HIV/AIDS. This course covers both of these skills by providing the most current protocols from certified industry professionals.

This training course is designed to be completed at your own pace, and upon completion you will receive a digital certification via email immediately as well as a hard copy that will be mailed to you within 24 hours. The course should take no more than one hour to complete.

The course curriculum includes the following:

  • How to formulate and execute an Emergency Action Plan (EAP)
  • A unit on universal precautions to follow in any emergency
  • Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
  • Emergency oxygen administration techniques
  • Bloodborne pathogens, including:
    • - Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C
    • - HIV and AIDS
    • - Other potentially infectious materials (OPIMs)
  • Strategies to minimize exposure and infection from bloodborne pathogens
